Introduction
This patient was diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma which has been going on for some time. The lesion has a depressed center with raised, rolled edges and some inflammation or redness surrounding the lesion.

Method of Treatment
The lesion was treated with CURADERM-BEC5 which was applied directly onto the lesion twice daily.

Description of Treatment
After some time on treatment with CURADERM the rolled edges of the lesion began to disappear and the necrotic tissue in the center had sloughed off. The lesion was now flatter but larger than what it was to begin with. However, new granulation tissue can now be seen in the center along with some white spots. This shows that healing is definitely on the way.

Results
As treatment continued the lesion eventually became smaller as new normal skin began to grow from the edges towards the center. Eventually, normal skin covered the whole area. The treatment was then discontinued.

Conclusion
This lesion was therefore successfully treated with CURADERM-BEC5 without having to resort to surgery and further follow up showed no recurrence of the lesion.
